| Term | Meaning |

| Extension | A user account that can register a phone and place / receive calls. |
| DID | "Direct Inward Dial" — an inbound phone number you own. |
| Trunk | The carrier connection that delivers external calls into and out of the tenant. |
| Dial plan | An ordered set of pattern → action rules that decide how outbound calls are routed. Every account points to one. |
| Auto attendant | A classic touch-tone menu — press 1 for sales, etc. |
| Voice agent | An AI-driven phone-call workflow built in the visual builder. See Voice Agents - Portal User Guide. |
| Ring group / Hunt group | A group of extensions that ring together. |
| Call queue / ACD | A waiting line for callers with agents picking up in turn. Vodia calls these ACDs ("Automatic Call Distribution"). |
| Paging group | A group of devices that play a one-way overhead announcement. |
| Service flag | A simple on/off switch other accounts use as a condition (e.g., open hours). |
| Park orbit | A numbered slot that holds a parked call until someone retrieves it. |
| MOS | "Mean Opinion Score" — a 1–5 quality rating for the audio of a call. |
| Sentiment | The model's read on whether the caller / agent sounded positive, negative, or neutral. |
| CDR | "Call Detail Record" — the row that captures a call after it ends. |
| BLF | "Busy Lamp Field" — the lights on a desk phone that show whether other extensions are on a call. |
| Webhook | An HTTP request your server receives when something happens in the phone system. |
| Star code | A dial-pad shortcut starting with * that triggers a feature, e.g., *72 to set call forwarding. |
| E911 / E911 Callback | An emergency-services location and the number emergency services should call back to. Required in many regions. |
| User Mode | A button on the extension editor that opens the Vodia WebRTC softphone in a new tab as the chosen extension. |
| Workspace | The tenant you are signed in to — shown at the bottom of the sidebar. |
| IPEI | DECT device identifier — the cordless-phone equivalent of a MAC address. |
